International Women’s Day Events

Women’s agenda is the most pressing issue Justice Africa Sudan works to address towards achieving justice and  goal of the  gender equality. After the Sudanese revelation September 2018, the most debatable topic is the Sudanese women Political participation. Justice Africa Sudan in a matter of marking The International Women’s Day organized several events addressing the role of women in the democratic transitional process and how we could strength the capability of women to participate in political life effectively.

The events include: –

  1. Women and the Constitution Rights workshop 

On the 1st of March 2021, Justice Africa women’s committee organized a workshop under the tittle Women and the Constitution Rights. The workshop targets the Sudanese youth who are concerned with the Human Rights Issue.

The topics have been discussed: –

  • Understating the concept of the constitution.
  • The Civic & the Politic Rights.
  • The cultural & Social & Economic Rights.
  • Women political Participation

2. Engendering the Democratic transitional and the Peace Process Forum:

 

The forum was presented by Mr.Hafiz Ismeil  – Justice Africa Sudan Manager.  It discussed several topics which include: –

  • Addressing gender issues beyond representation.
  • Displaced women issue and victims of domestic violence.
  • Political Participation & Alternative Agenda Opportunities.
  • Elimination of Political, social, and economic obstacles towards Sudanese women development.

3. International Women’s Day event

 

In collaboration with  Nuba Mountains Students Union _ El Nilein University – Khartoum,  Justice Africa Sudan organized  an event marking the International Women Day. The Programme include Lectures, Drama and Music.

First paper presented by Dr. Iman Abu Damir (peace Studies Specialists).

Role of women in peace and Development

Second paper presented by Mr. Hafiz Ismail (Activists and Justice Africa Sudan Director).

Engendering the Democratic transitional and the Peace Process.

 

  • Recommendation:
  • Inclusion of civic education in the education hierarchy.
  • Admit the international women rights conventions in the constitution.
  • Establish professional centre to strengthen women leadership capacity.
  • The transitional government and the international community should acknowledge that women from conflict areas are a partner in the process of pace.
  • Support the NGOs which work to raise the awareness about the human rights.
  • The government, international & local NGOs should cooperate to support Women issues.
