Justice Africa Sudan welcomes the agreement between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and SudanPeople Liberation Army (North) to facilitate delivery of humanitarian Aid to conflict-affectedareas in South Kordofan state, we believe the agreement represents a step in the right directionwhich is long overdue.Since the start of the ongoing war between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF)and the Rapid SupportForces (RSF) in 15th April 2023 South Kordofan state has suffered from the spread of theconflict to some parts of the state and the clashes between SAF and RSF in North Kordofanstate block the main supply road to the state and tighten the siege over it as most movementsof people and goods to the state come through the main roads that cross North Kordofanfrom central, north Sudan or the main Ports in Eastern Sudan, the roads also represented themain passages of products such as agricultural products and livestock for export. Since the start of the war on the 15th of April 2023 in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum betweenSudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces) RSF), the RSF and its allied Arabmilitias started a rampage, randomly attacking Darfuris from certain tribes. People have beenattacked solely for their ethnic and tribal backgrounds. The magnitude of violence is now thesame as the level of violence of 2003 and 2004, which was described as ethnic cleansing andgenocide and led the UN Security Council to refer Darfur crimes to the International CriminalCourt (ICC) under the auspices of UNSC resolution 1593. The perpetrators have specificallytargeted human rights defenders, communities, and tribal leaders from the tribes of Masalit,Gimar, Dajo, and other non-Arab groups that included the killing of West Darfur GovernorGeneral Khamis Abker and other prominent communities and tribal leaders. Since the start of the ongoing war on the 15th of April 2023, Justice Africa Sudan (JAS) hasdocumented many cases of human rights violations through our networks of human rightsmonitors, activists, and members of emergency room committees in Khartoum. Our reporting covers all states experiencing grave human rights violations: Khartoum (all seven localities), greater Darfur states (four states), and greater Kordofan (three states).Activists and human rights monitors face very challenging conditions on the ground. Manyhave been subjected to harassment by the warring factions for documenting serious humanrights abuses and violations such as extrajudicial killings, kidnapping, rapes, torture, lootingof personal property, forced displacement, and forced marriages. The alleged crimes of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF)amount to serious violations of the Geneva Conventions, of 1949, and the four Additional Protocols. Both are simultaneously violating the Jeddah agreement signed in May 2023 to ensurethe protection of civilians and humanitarian workers and to allow the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Many of the civilian casualties were killed by indiscriminate aerial bombardment and long and medium-range launchers with insufficient targeting. With the war extended to many regions including North Kordofan State and White Nile State, the movement of people and goods has become incredibly dangerous, leading to severeshortages of essential commodities and medical supplies.Justice Africa Sudan is publishing the summary of the documented human rights violations, according to the reports of our networks of monitors. Since the start of the war between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on 15th April 2023, Sudan has indulged in a total state of lawlessness and seen massive violations of human rights. We managed to document cases of rape, extra-judiciary killing, and occupation of private properties, places of worship, and schools and hospitals also been attacked and looted. Sudan religious minorities have been deliberately targeted, some of them asked to abandon their religion and convert to Islam at the point of a gun.Justice Africa Sudan managed to carry out investigations to assess the magnitude of violations against religious minorities. We managed to interview some Christians and visited some sites that have been affected in the capital Khartoum and Madani in El Gazzira states, including visiting churches and places of worship in some of the slumps of the capital Khartoum including Omdurman Dar Al Salam Wad Al Bashir Omdada, Mayo Khartoum South, and A Haj Youssef in the Nile East locality. Some of videos circulated in the social media show the command of RSF vising the church in Wad Madani after the city was taken over by RSF, they tried to assure the Christians that all their rights will be safeguard but the problem is RSF is not a disciplined forces and the commanders can’t control all their forces , and in many cases the commanders were trying to distance themselves from the violations committed by their forces but they are fully responsible as they are the occupying forces and the protection of civilians is their responsibility.
