The Civil Programme

The program aims to support and enhance the CPA and sustain peaceful dialogue, with a view to achieving an inclusive and peaceful democratic society.

 

The project will achieve these goals by:

(a) Assisting a wide range of Sudanese civil society organizations to work together, advocate for and defend their collective interests; and

(b) Impressing a civil agenda onto the transition period, this guarantees civil rights, pluralism, social and economic justice and accountability, the rule of law and peace in Sudan.

  1. Initiate a “Sudan-Sudan Dialogue”
  2. Support Civil Society Election/Referendum-Related Activities
  3. Support Civil Society in conflict prevention, resolution and peace-building in Kordofan

 

Three main outcomes are expected to be a result of the program:

  1. Sudanese citizens across the country are engaged in a discussion of the future of Sudan.
  2. Sudanese civil society is empowered to support the democratic processes of elections and a referendum.
  3. Civil society in Kordofan is supported to address the most pressing issues facing the region.
